The Residence Inn by Marriott Brussels Airport, managed by Cycas Hospitality received a top award earlier this summer at the Marriott EMEA Franchise Owners’ Conference 2022.

Held in Barcelona, the awards honour achievements across the global hotel brand’s European portfolio over the past twelve months.  The team at Residence Inn Brussels Airport were awarded the ‘Marriott Select Brands Hotel Opening 2021’ Award in recognition of their work to successfully open the hotel during a tumultuous period for the hospitality industry.

Since opening in April 2021, the hotel has seen significant growth in their occupancy, revenue and profit figures and has created a number of jobs in the local community.

With 127 modern studios and one-bedroom suites featuring separate living and sleeping areas, the hotel provides easy access to the nearby NATO headquarters as well as the Diegem, Zaventem and Evere areas of the city.  Engaging with the local community is a key focus of the hotel, and they play an active part in promoting Brussels as a tourist and business destination.

Commenting on the result, Petra Baer, General Manager at Residence Inn by Marriott Brussels Airport, said: "I am incredibly proud and honoured to work with an exceptionally talented and passionate group who made this award happen.

“Winning an Opening of the Year hotel award would be an amazing accomplishment in itself but achieving this accolade in the midst of a worldwide pandemic is truly a once in a life-time high.”
