• Reserved Matters approval granted for Fairfield by Marriott hotel to commence build at British Motor Museum in Gaydon, Warwick
  • Introduction of Fairfield by Marriott hotel brand to the UK hotel sector with Cycas Hospitality named management partner

Exciting developments are underway in Gaydon, Warwickshire, as Reserved Matters approval has been granted for the construction of a new Fairfield by Marriott hotel adjacent to the British Motor Museum and JLR Global Headquarters, just off junction 12 of the M40 motorway. Scheduled to begin construction this autumn, the 142-bedroom midscale hotel will be located outside the boundary of the Museum site and is independently owned and operated.

Set to open early 2027, the hotel represents the introduction of the Fairfield by Marriott hotel brand to the UK and celebrates the beauty of simplicity with a seamless hotel stay focused on productivity and a great night's sleep, all at great value. Drawing upon the heritage of the original Marriott hotel family farm, the hotel will offer high-quality accommodation alongside easy access to JLR’s Global Headquarters and the British Motor Museum, home to the world’s largest collection of historic British cars, and a major cultural and heritage destination in the region.

There is currently a shortage of good quality internationally branded hotel accommodation in the local area. The introduction of a modern hotel, branded by Marriott and operated by leading European operator Cycas Hospitality, is expected to attract a broader and more diverse audience, while significantly enhancing the local visitor economy.

Adrian Managhan, Acting Managing Director at the British Motor Museum commented: “A new hotel in such close proximity to the Museum presents exciting opportunities for growth. As an independent museum run by a charitable trust, we depend on income from visitors, donations, and commercial ventures such as conferences and events. An increase in footfall driven by this development will directly support our mission to Collect, Conserve, Share and Inspire.”
